KC U Sponsors 5th uarter What a great year it was for the King Christian Union! With sponsor Mr. Gene Shine and president Jimmy Lowe under the leadership of Christ Jesus, how could they miss? In addition to the regular meetings, there were several special afternoon meetings. Dennis Sowell, minister of youth from Sheldon Baptist Church, presented the club with an afternoon of song and the club was singing again at another afternoon meeting with evangelist Bob Gabriel and pianist Steve Stanfield. During football season, the K.C.U. sponsored a Fifth Quarter' after each home game. The Fifth Quarter was held at a variety of churches in the area and provided many activities. The K.C.U. finished off the football season with hamburgers at the First Baptist Church of Houmont Park. The supper was followed by a two-part program. Part one was a light-hearted fellowship followed by a solemn song and devotional presided by Dennis Evans of Houmont Park.
