The C. E. King Band did a spectacular job in the 1970-'71 school year. The big event of the year was being invited to the Tournament of Roses Parade in Califomia. The band worked very hard throughout the year, with practice for UIL Contest and attending all the foot- ball games - putting on line shows each time. All band members, officers, aides, mana- gers, and especially Mr I-leuberger and Mr. Gilbert displayed much determination to meet their goals. Vivian Ingrum, Pat Kotal and Delores Baker are hardworking The assistant band director is band aides. Mr hm Gllbert

'IO 4 The C, E. King Band Worked diligently for three months to acquire the funds necessary to make the trip to Pasadena, Califomia, After arriving in California, the band participated in the Annual Band Time Contest and took second place in National Honors. Then they marched in the seven mile Tour- nament of Roses Parade. The band took several side trips to such places as Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Marineland, It was an enjoyable and memorable trip for all, Thanks to Mr. Heuberger, we are now long time friends with the Hawaiians. The Band participates in the Tournament of Roses Band Time Contest.
