It is known to all as JACKET SPIRIT. but to each individual it has a unique rneaning. JACKET SPIRIT dominates every aspect of life at Byrd. It is the basis for the many ACTIVITIES which take place each year, such as Go West Day, Gator Hunl Day, pep rallies, Homecom- ing, Basketball Dav, and the Junior Proni. Stu- dents in MUSIC and MILITARY further JACKET SPIRIT by making banners, partici- pating in the various assemblies, and drilling for performances until their feet ached. Together, CLASSES and FACULTY cxpand Byrdities’ scope of knowledge in academic areas. JACKET SPIRIT inspires outstanding students to achieve HONORS.
