Mr. Benner is the director of the Byrd High School Band which has served its school in many ways throughout the years. Mrs. Chandler directs the A Cappella Choir and several glee clubs. The choir has been very successful this year and has made several personal appearances. Miss Lawrence teaches a very important sub- ject, Art. Byrd is fortunate to have such talent among the students, and this has been a great aid to all types of publications. Mrs. Kite teaches speech and drama. Each year the senior play is a highlight of spring activities. ln addition to this, numerous one-act plays are given by members of the speech classes.
