Coach Frank Trotter really had a group of winners with Seniors Rod Vanwagoner, Steve Doyel, Kyle Fonnan, Doug Tiderington, Randy Miller, and Mark Colby helping to bring in18 victories and attain a perfect baseball season. The team went 37 2X3 innings without giving up a run. With these 18 straight wins, Byron set an area record. Powerful hitting, skilled pitch- ing, solid catching combined with speed and style, plus a group of fine baseball players under an excellent coach, made 1972 the greatest baseball season in Byron's history.
