Their contribution each year makes it E possible for us to have the Re-Echo. We are very grateful o them. vve We would also like to express our thanks for the very ' , kind and patient assistance that Mr. Werkema, our Versluls 55- 55 Lt- photographer, gave us. We congratulate him on the excellent Job that he and the Versluls staff did on all our photographs. Yes, we thank the businessmen, Mr. Werkema, and everyone who has had a part in making this annual a success, but when it comes to a certain young lady who happens to be the advisor of the Re-Echo and has been Kfor quite some times, we of the annual staff throw off our hats to her. We thought lt was about time this one who is always slavlng away in the background, doing a wonderful Job at direct- ing the production of the annuals from year to year, received some recognition. So to you, Mrs. Holzgen. , . . :nie S our ance A little pink bundle of Joy, which appeared in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Burk, on March 31, 1928, was none other than the former Barbara Burk. During her early childhood and teens, her family lived in Fulton, Michigan, where she attended Fulton School. Later on, the Burk family moved to Climax, Michigan, where her folks are presently living. Our little Miss Burk than decides to be a teacher, so off to College she goes. She attended Western Michigan College in Kalamazoo, Michigan and received her B.S. degree there. In 1951, she started her teaching career at Byron Center High School as a Commercial teacher, and at this occupation she ls still employed. But in between 1951 and the present, she met Leroy Holzgen. A little bug, namely the love bug, bit this couple and they were married on August 7, 195 . Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Holzgen are happily married and are still living in Byron Center. . . 7m.,.W00yyfw.wff THE FHMILY 0: fyausalb 1ALJ ' mah, eubtfdq, Barbie Dau .jsfilvyb .
