Q In the autumn of 1950 nearly forty-two busy bees swarmed around Mr. Burt and Miss France for advice. Being Freshmen at the time, we were naturally very ambitious. As the school term went along we lost several of our swarm but gained some also. It proved to be a very prosperous year. As Sophomores we followed the counsel of Mr. Folkert and Mr. Wells. Sel- ling greeting cards was our main project. Our hive was drained of honey. The bees just weren't very lively. The top bees were: President . . . Ronald Sabin, Vice-Pres . . . Melvin Berkompas, Secretary . . . Robert Beute, Treasurer . . . Leila Monroe, Sgt.-of-arms . . . Elgin McConnon. Linda Bazan and Edward MacDonald represented our hive in the Round Table discussions. Crystal Dyer represented us in the Queen's Court. Our able advisors this year were Mr. Klinesteker and Miss France. The class officers were: President . . . Crystal Dyer, Vice Pres . . . Shirley Chase, Secretary . . . Norma Bartz, Treasurer . . . Edward MacDonald, Sgt.-of-arms . . . Donald Dykstra. - This year we have been awarded S10 for our participation in the Harvest Festival. We also won the half-day off in the contest concerning the magazine sales. Six of our bees were members of the football squad. They were: Edward MacDonald, Larry Christian, Henry Pratt, Burrell Stein, Dan Buckowing, and Cliff Van Houven. We are especially proud of one of our members of the football squad. This is Dan Buckowing. Dan, who was an excellent player, will not be able to play next year, but he will assist the coaches. This year's representative to the Queen's Court was Linda Bazan. We had a very good year and we are looking forward to next year when we will make our long journey at the end of the year. 13
