The school will not allow it. Why not Dad? On November 5 and 6, the junior high auditorium was the setting for another conflict between women's lib and older traditions. A girl had actually decided to go out for varsity football; family and friends were in a general up- roar. During the play many exciting things happened, such as Howard, Ginger's father, tearing down the goal posts when Ginger first got to play. Daughter Jeannie took over her older sister Joan's part in their school play, VICTORIA REGINA. Joan, in the meantime, was having boy troubles with Eddie Davis, who was captain of the football team and not quite as good as Ginger while Ginger's boyfriend, Tommy Green, was upset about having a football player for a girlfriend. Agnes' main problem was controlling Howard, who was being pressured by the school principal, Mr. Wilson, and his banker boss, Ed Hoffman, to get Ginger out of foot- ball. At last everything was settled, and peace reigned at the Carol house when Ginger decided she'd rather be a girl after all. The play was again under the excellent direction of Kathy McLennan. 16 Be patient-only a little more.
