These are just a few of the sayings that could be heard from the Byron- Cross-Country runners, as they ran through another fall over all the area countryside. Byron's Cross-Country team had a rough year but gave it all they had, which is very commendable. Individual accomplishments are as follows; in the Oregon Frosh Open three of Byron's team members did excep- tionally well as they placed high among a field of seventh runners. Brad Haye was a medal winner with a tenth place finish. Varsity letters were given to the following runners: Mickey Newhausen, who was elected captain. Brad Haye, who was elected MVP, Dave Gin- ger and Randy Dietrich. MEET PLACE MEET PLACE Mt. Byron Frosh-Soph football was a reflection of the Varsity this season, as the team suffered through only one win in conference play with six losses. Overall they had one win and seven losses. All the Byron fans can hope for is better luck in the future and perhaps with a little more experience a better record can be had. For the season, quarterback Jim Landis completed 43 out of 83 passes for 507 yards. Running back Todd Tallman rushed for 507 yards and sophomore de- fenseman Fred Carter made 62 tackles.
