Each interested girl adopted one of the residents as their grandparent and went to visit and talk to them. The girls sold candles and donated the proceeds to the HOPE foundation. To finance their spring trip to Chicago, the girls sold cookbooks. A King Pretty Feet contest was held in March during FHA week, and Jeff Camling was chosen as the winner. 17

The annual bowling at the Byron House began, and it was time for all teams to compete for the championship. Captain Nancy Johnson and her team won the tournament. The girls sold tupperware for their money-making project, which financed the trip they took in the spring. Swimming, basketball, and volleyball were the activities during the latter part of the year. The girls held a father-daughter banquet at which awards were presented and the new officers announced. 18
