By-Hi proudly presents, in pictures and words, the story of the year 1968-69. We hope that the narration will help you to relive a cherished event, revive a special friendship, recall the styles of the year, remember the historical events that influence the school environment, and renew your desire for additional study and learning. Although this book will concentrate to a great extent on the extracurricular side of school life, we are ever mindful that the main reason we are in school is to gain knowledge and competency which will help us to live good and useful lives after we leave these halls of learning. Even though we seldom tell them so, we want the faculty and administration, as well as our parents, to know that we do appreciate their efforts to give us a good education. But the lighter side of life is also important. So, as you turn the pages, tarry a while and look at our new football bleachers, the handiwork of interested townspeople; watch our Drill Team perform at home games; congratulate the kings and queens of Homecoming and of the May; listen for the beat, and dance in our teenage style; vote in the Presidential election; measure our short skirts; and our long hair and sideburns; visit our club meetings; and help us win our ball games. And, now, the story unfolds . . . 2
