G.A.A. began the year with a Fun Night, or a get-together for all members, and continued to be just as much fun throughout the entire year. The first five weeks were spent outdoors playing baseball or shooting arrows. Several of the girls participated in an archery tournament and their scores were sent to be compared with scores from surrounding schools. December was spent playing volleyball. For this the girls were divided into six teams and played three games each Monday night. As soon as the volleyball nets were put away, teams were set up for bowling at the Byron House. Bowling led to the playing of basketball and then came the final event of the year— the installation of officers for 1969-70. 10

The story of the year for the Music Department included these many ac- tivities: performing at home football and basketball games, presenting the annual Christmas concert, participat- ing in the IHSA ensemble and solo con- test held at Dakota, hosting the Route 72 Music Festival, and presenting the annual Spring concert.
