As they stand on the threshold of their graduation, their future looms before them. The diversified talents which distinguish this class have paved the way for the oncoming underclassmen for their most productive years. The footsteps will not stop at graduation; they will continue onward to take this talented class to the high goals they hope to achieve. Whether these goals will be attained or not depends on their ability to take their place in this troubled world. 3 Wayne Merri Jackie o a O 0O Dale Dennie Tiny 4 [Atm FouteS, lnnac ds Out for a stroll Carole Farmer” Ferb OD QO Roly Poly Glawe, Sabin, Edwards Cold, cruel, world Sick 'em Sally Picnic with Pats Pam, Pam, Pam 6 D tec feoK We, the Senior's of 1962, dedicate this annual to Mr. Longley, our annual advisor. If she doesn't shut up, I'll Remember the hypnotist? Yes, six husbands------, why? We Backed the play. 33 OfiidOAs P Qxj THE CURIOUS SAVAGE The setting was a rest home for the slightly bewildered. The man in charge was a Doctor Emmit (Gary Ferb). He also had a very pretty assistant, Miss Willie (Carole Carlson). The residents were: Fairy Mae (Barb Eickman), who was really beautiful--at least that's what she thought: Mrs. Paddy (Pat Etnyre) who hated everything in the world, including electricity; Florence (Carolyn Allen) who had a little boy (John Sunderman); Jeff (Jim Burge) who struggled through Beethovens Fifth, and I do mean struggled; and, finally, Hannibal (Dick Nally) who did his best to play Flight of the Bumble Bee on two strings. And the Family: Lilly Belle (Sally Snyder) was quite a woman. Samuel (Steve Mosiman) was more the quiet type. He had to be because his mustache glue got stuck in his teeth. Then there was Titus (Terry Himes) who was an outspoken chap if ever I saw one; in fact, he couldn't keep his mouth shut during the whole play--always saying someone else's lines. There was Mrs. Savage (Carole McLaughlin) who was the only one there with brains. Thanks to Mr. Sunderman's superb directing, assisted by Janet Noyes and Jeannie Johnston. If it had not been for the courageous patience of Mr. Sunderman, the play would not have been as good as it was. Yes. it takes a good man to direct a play full of zanies so that an audience can comprehend it. Nevertheless, all's well that ends well, and it could not have ended better. The Fresh-Soph team captured first in our conference with 51 points over seven other schools, and tied with Foreston for first place with 46 points in the Foreston Invitational Relays. Our varsity, because of lack of depth, finished sixth in the conference. They did a fine job considering they had a good field of competition. Records set this season were: Bob Burt (F.S.) in the 100 yd. dash; Jim Hess (F.S.) 220 yd. run; and Burt, Hess, Johnson, Hess, the Sprint Medally Relay. Outstanding man of the year was Lyle Lee, who totaled 54 1 2 points for the year. It was a good year, and our boys did an outstanding job. They have a fine chance for still another good year. In a like fashion, modern peoples have retained a fragment of this savage love of ritual. Therefore, these pagan rituals form the basis of the initiation ceremonies of various groups, social organizations, and our Freshman-Sophomore parties.
