The Byron Tigers enjoyed the best season in a decade by blasting their way through the Route 72 Tournament in January defeating Ashton, Stillman Valley, and Pecatonica. In the District Basketball Tournament Byron defeated the Forreston Cardinals 58-50. After a season of 29 wins and two loses the Tigers were stopped by Newman of Sterling 90-73. It was the final game for four of Byron's starting five: J.P. Lundgren, Dave Smith, Mike Dennis, and Tom Wallin. 3
