Allan Cain Senior Back FOOTBALL After the final game of the season the 14 lettermen elected the most valuable player for the season and also co-captains for the team. Al- lan Cain was voted most valuable player. Allan and Bob Boyer were elected Co-captains. Allan led the team on offense by calling the sig- nals. He played in all seven games and scored 124 points high for the team. Bob, the only player, playing both offense and defense, quarterbacked on offense and played safety on de- fense. Lowell Taylor Junior Back Rusty Nelson Senior Center Bill Deill Senior Back TIGERS TAKE CHAMPIONSHIP Larry McKee Senior End Marv Dennis Senior End Scott Walker Senior Center I Melvyn Johnson Junior Back Bob Heidenreich Sophomore Back The Byron Tigers going undefeated in conference play, claimed the Route 72 Conference Championship for the first time since football had been es- tablished again at Byron. Led by eight returning lettermen the Tigers fielded a highly experienced team scoring 275 points and holding their opponents to only 96 in conference play. The Tigers missed an undefeated season with a 21- 18 loss to Kirkland, a Rainbow Con- ference power. Coach Balch lettered 14 men on this years championship team.
