CLASS HISTORY In September 1951, our class came into the doors of Byron Commu- nity High School as thirty-five meek little Freshmen. After four years we have built up to a roar as we leave now in June 1955. Our Freshman class officers were: Roger Reeverts, President; James Swanson, Vice-President; Kathy Myers, Secretary; Marjorie Brumley, Treasurer; Scott Walker and Nancy Butt, Student Council. The big events in our Frehsman year were; Initiation, our Algebra parties, and then treating the Sophomores with a picnic and skating party at White Pines. Our Sophomore year we felt like seasoned pros after one whole year in high school. We elected as our class officers: Marvin Dennis, President; James Swanson, Vice-President; Allan Cain, Secretary; Marjorie Brumley, Treasurer: David Johnson and Nancy Butt, Student Council. The big events of this year were the initiation for the Freshmen and then being treated back by them with a picnic and skating party at the White Pines. Then our Junior year we were among the proud upper-classmen. Our Class officers for that year were: James Swanson, President; Robert Boyer, Vice-President; Nancy Butt, Secretary; Marjorie Brumley, Treasurer; Karen Eickman and Allan Cain, Student Coun- cil. Our activities and responsibilities also started to pick up. This year we sponsored the Christmas Dance, and we had Jim Campbell and his orchestra, with the theme, Snow Balls We made more money on the dance than any other class in Byron High. We were in charge of the coke and candy sales at all the different events. The other big event of the year was the Junior-Senior Banquet. We held our at the Hotel Lafayette in Rockford, and had Vernon Lux, a magician as entertainer. Our last year we have regarded ourselves as the high and mighty Seniors. Our class officers were: RobertBoyer, President; Allan Cain, Vice-President; Barbara Sarber, Secretary; Marjorie Brumley, Treas- urer; Patsy Dietrich and Rusty Nelson, Student Council Representatives. Our first big event was the taking of our senior pictures. Our second memorial occasion was our play, Mr. Roberts. We sponsored the May Dance. We also published the Annual. We were treated to a fine Junior- Senior Banquet. We broke other records as we were winners in the magazine sales all four years. The last two years we recollected the two stuffed hound dogs to leave behind us as a remembrance of our class of 55 And our stock pile in our treasury will take us on a very enjoyable senior trip we are sure. Nine members of our class have attended the Byron schools all twelve years. Those making history together are: Janet Balle, Robert Boyer, Allen Cain, David Cox, Bill Deill, Carolyn Jackson, Roger Reeverts, Barbara Sarber and Scott Walker.
