The Byron Chapter of the Future Home- makers of America has a total of thirty-six members. Opal Turner, who moved out of our district in January, was elected president in the fall; Connie King, vice-president; Shirley Mon, secretary; and Kathy Hess, treasurer. Mrs. Carr acted as sponsor and Mrs. Reno Whetsel served as chapter mother. Several honors were bestowed upon the club this year. Early in the year an officers' train- ing school was held at Amboy and Byron had the most members present. Carol Swanson brought honor to the club by being elected Recreational Leader for Section 21. Social high lights of the year were a spaghetti supper, a Christmas party, a box social, and the annual Mother-Daughter banquet. Pictured above and to the left are a number of girls at work in the various activities in Home Economics.
