First we see Ellen Blanchard who in recent years was voted Miss Dial System of the United States. Miss Blanchard is now third vice-president in charge of wrong numbers for the Trans-Razorville Telephone Company. Now we see Kenny Boyer, leading money winner on the nation's race tracks. Today Kenny copped the Indianapolis Speedway Race with his new Blumobile. Due to the loss of the engine on the 190th lap, he had to run the last ten laps on foot and won by a nose. Max Butt, the much sought safe cracker and light bulb snatcher, was ap- prehended this afternoon in the water front section of South Byron. He was driven from his hide out by his constant craving for black jelly beans. Faith Feathers ton plans to open her Woo Woo and Wow charm school next week. Faith says, We givethemall the poise, charm, and dignityit takes to be a winner. This is the only school of its kind for dogs in the United States. Wayne Hagan, well known political figure, is expected to announce his candidacy for president in the near future. This will be his third attempt to be- come supreme head of the Brotherhood of Progressive Skunk Raisers. Lucille Heidenreich, famous home economist, starts on a nationwide tour today to demonstrate her new method of canning pickles. Says Lucille, They're pickles with a personality. Lucille was recently made honorary president of the Camp Fire Girls. Leary Kennedy, staunch senator from Missouri, has just finished his re- cord breaking filibuster of thirty nine days. Senator Kennedy is trying to pass a law legalizing graft. We see Elaine McDonald, the Song Bird of Spoor's Island, is about to make her debut in the Lambstail Opera House. Elaine is the only female baritone in opera at the present time. Jerry Myers, renown figure in the world of sports, today purchased the Stillman Dirty Sox of the Defective League for the fabulous sum of $12. 32. Mr. Myers plans to rebuild the last place Dirty Sox completely and if that doesn't work he will try Hadacol. 44 Marvel Nelson, head chemist for the Pourin, Mixim, Shakim, and Boom Chemical Company, today announced that she had devised a method of ex- tracting blood from a turnip. Her other recent discoveries are a rubber ink to write checks that will bounce and a skid proof soap to bring safety to the bath tub. Valdene Oltmanns is to be awarded the Nobel Peace Price in Oslo,Norway next month for her outstanding work in the field of criminology. Says Valdene I've been here so long I feel like I belong here. Gene Reber, wealthy Ogle County farmer, has just completed a barn that is three miles long, nineteen feet high, and a foot wide. When asked his reasons for building such a barn, he said, It would come in handy if I ever raise spaghetti. Shirley Shelton, beloved cowgirl of stage, screen, and radio, had de- signed an expanding ten gallon hat for people with twelve gallon heads. Mary Vanstone today ventured into the sea of matrimony for the nineteenth time. Mary attributes her ability to catch men to her beauty, her charming personality, and her ability to run the hundred yard dash in nine seconds flat. Barbara Wallin, star of the radio, show, John's Other Mother-in-law, an- nounced that she will retire in the very near future. Barbara says that she will spend all her time collecting butterflies, salt and pepper shakers, and money. Sally Walker, famous concert pianist, is in the process of forming a bank of her own. Sally stated she was tired of the wild, low class music played on the concert stage. Miss Walker's will follow the quiet, refined lines of the old Spike Jones band of 1950. Virginia Whetsel, millionaire tooth pick tycoon, is going to go out of business and retire with a cool twelve million. Miss Whetsel said she would like to retire with money, but twelve million tooth picks ain't hay. Joann Worman, national president of the W.C. T. U. , was injured this morning in an automobile accident. Miss Worman said that she tunred off the road for a bridge coming at her and a tree jumped in front of her car. 45 Last Will And Testament We, the Senior Class of 1952, being reasonably sound of mind and body, do hereby leave our numerous treasured possessions to the re- maining members of Byron Community High School. I, Ellen Blanchard, leave my quiet and mild disposition to Audrey Colwell. I, Kenny Boyer, leave my vast knowledge of automobiles to future hot rod fiends around school. I, Max Butt, leave----with the greatest of pleasure. I, Faith Featherston, leave to the remaining cheerleaders a sincere hope that they will find away to make more people cheer at ball games. I, Wayne Hagan, leave my position of soda jerk to Rick Greene in order that the Class of '53 will have its own private jerk. I, Lucille Heidenreich, leave my red hot cornet to anyone who can sharpen flats as I did. I, Leary Kennedy, as editor of the Ink Spot, leave my nose for news to anyone who aspires to attain great heights in the field of journalism. I, Elaine McDonald, leave my shy and modest ways to Susan McNames for I know she will use them as much as I did. I, Jerry Myers, leave my athletic ability and fatal charm with the girls to Bruce Billings. I, Marvel Nelson, leave my studiousness and interest in school work to Denny Hardesty in order to preserve the sanity of the faculty. I, Valdene Oltmanns, leave a wee bit of my height to Nellene Morrison in hopes that it will bring her up in the world. I, Gene Reber, leave my unlimited knowledge of scientific farming to Bob Wickwire. I, Shirley Shelton, leave my s inging voice and clarinet playing ability to Frank Fransen. I, Mary Vanstone, leave a lockof my hair to my many male admirers in Byron High. I, Sally Walker, leave my knack of winning friends and influencing people to Jerry Moats in order to further him in his work with the F. B. I. I, Barbara Wallin, leave-----and take along my most treasured possession. He's too good to leave behind. I, Virginia Whetsel, leave my school skipping abilityto anyone who wants it. I also leave my book of overworked excuses. I, Joann Worman, leave my robust voice to any junior who will run the risk of waking the history class when he recites. 46 To the underclassmen: We leave to the juniors the responsibility of being next year's big wheels. We leave to the sophomores our ability to gab for three minutes be- tween periods and then make our lockers and our class in the last five seconds. We leave to the freshmen the consoling fact that next year they will have a class to look down on. To the Faculty: We leave Mr. Quarton a door mat for the laboratory that automatically removes heel clips from the boys' shoes. We leave to Coach Bogott an electric eye for detecting towel thieves. We leave Miss Althoff a shorthand class that thrives on long ass ignments. We leave Miss Love an art class that doesn't think Rembrandt is the trade name of a typewriter. We leave Mr. Hahn a quiet and peaceful group for an eighth hour study hall--one that will not stage a riot when left alone. We leave Mr. Haire a fool proof method of detecting gum chewers in American History class. We leave to Mr. Sunderman our most sincere thanks for helping us make this year one of the most enjoyable years of our lives. We leave to Mr. Feinne a roll-away billiard table so he can keep in practice during his spare time. To Caroline Reinders, our office girl, we leave a twenty year sub- scription to Knit One, Drop Two Pattern Book. To our trusty janitor, Mose, we leave a telescope to help himcount the cars on the Chicago and Great Western Trains. Signed and sealed this second day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty Two.
