SEASONAL FOOTBALL REVIEW BYNUM 0--MERIDIAN 39 The season opener was played against Meridian, a strong, experienced eleven. The Meridian Yellow- Jackets had complete control of the game from the opening whistle to the final gun. BYNUM 0--RIESEL 45 The Riesel Indians were on the warpath when they whooped into Bynum. The Indians scored in every quarter: the bulldogs threatened in the second quarter but failed to push over a score. BYNUM 6- -ALEDO 0 Bynum's first victory came at the expense of the Aledo Bearcats. Ray intercepted a pass near midfield and raced to the ten yard line to set up the only score of the game. The T .D. was scored a few plays later by Ray. BYNUM 13- -SALADO 6 The Bynum Bulldogs had their second taste of victory in a hard fought battle with the Salado Eagles. The Bulldogs were in the lead the entire game after making the first score. BYNUM 19- -ITALY 33 The Italy Gladiators scored 19 points before the Bulldogs came to life. By the third quarter the Bynum boys tied the score at 19-19. The Gladiators were the victors after scoring twice more in the last quarter. BYNUM 0--DAWSON 8 The first district game was a battle of bulldog against bulldog. Dawson won the dogfight after scoring a touchdown in the third quarter and a safety in the last quarter. BYNUM 0--HUBBARD 34 The Hubbard Jaguars celebrated their homecoming by defeating the Bulldogs 34-0. BYNUM 36--GATESVILLE STATE HOME 0 Bynum made an outstanding comeback by defeating the Gatesville Bisons 36-0. Every Bynum player was in action. Roy Markwardt upped the score by catching two touchdown passes. BYNUM 46--ABBOTT 13 The Bulldogs added another victory to their list by romping over the Abbott Panthers with a margin of 33 points. Royce Ray led thefattack by passing or mnning for every touchdown. BYNUM 13--WHITNEY 13 The Bulldogs final and best game of the season was played at Whitney against the Whitney Wildcats. The first score of the game came in the second quarter on a pass play from Ray to Bottom. Whitney came back in the third quarter with two touchdowns. With only two minutes left in the last quarter, Campbell caught a pass behind the Wildcat defenders and raced into the endzone. Ray ran for the extra point, which tied the game.
