JOE RAY Clubs: FFA 1, 2, 3, Glee 3, DE 4, Band 4. Byars-Hall will never be the same without Farmer Joe. He is worth his weight in fun, unpredictable acts, and pleasant cooperativeness. He reached the peak of his career when he and the bass drum became bosom pals. When he is not sleep- ing in English, he nods his wise old head and says, 'I told you so'. ALLEN PETREE Clubs: FFA I, 2, 3, 4, C Club 3, 45 Teen Timers l, 2, Baseball l, 2, 3, Basketball l, 2, 3, 4, Football l, 2, 3, 4, Annual Staff 4, Purple and Gold 2, American Legion Baseball I 2. Al spends most of his time in training in connection with his various sports activities-much to Byars-Hall's advantage- when he isn't keeping the road hot between Covington and Leigh's Chapel in that wonderful open air Mercury. JAMES RICHARDSON FFA 1, 2, 3, Commercial 3, DE Club 4. Bosom buddy of Paul Rickard's, the two are usually seen with a couple of new girls every other night-his quiet na- ture and fishing hobbies, however, provide a contrast to his handsome features. CHARLIE POOL FFA l, 2, 3, 4. Charlie will be remembered for his spontaneous dry wit that has brightened many a dull class-his interest in drawing and woodworking may develop into a profitable vocation. ai' MACK PARR FFA l, 2, 3, 4. lf Mack tackles his future farm career with the same am- bition, determination, and pleasant philosophy that he has shown in his four years at Byars-Hall, he will undoubtedly make a great success. -.pq-or

BERNARD NAsoN Senior Class Reporter, Purple and Gold Staff 3, 4, FFA 1, 2, 3, 4, Beta Club 3, 4. Bernard is one of those rare individuals, a serious-minded young man. Liking him well for his friendly, courteous manner, his classmates marvel at his literary ability and intelligence. BETTYE MIDYETT Clubs: FHA 1, 3, 4, Glee 3, 4, Beta 3, Basketball l, 2. Although Bettye married in her natural born Senior year, she had the ambition and grit to come back and work for that diploma. Midgett is her size as well as her name. ERNEST PARKER FFA 1, 2, 3, 4, Treasurer 3, Football 2, 3. Ernie and Aaron Smith will be remembered as new fad artists. Byars-Hall will never be the same without their char- treuse, fluorescent hats, their giant-size coveralls, bow ties and please don't forget those wicked water guns. delhi. State Festival I, 2, Teen Tavern I, 2, Beta Club l, 2, 3, 4, Rep. 4, Freshman Editor, Business Manager Sophomore Paper. Shorty transferred his 6 ft. 5 in. to Byars-Hall in his Senior year. He must be brains from his head to his toes judging by the long list of honors and the report card he brought with him. Byars-Hall has found' him dependable, intelligent and popular with faculty and student body alike. BOBBY MosELEv FFA. Mole is another one of those dry wit artists from Mason He doesn't talk much, but when he speaks, it is worth hearing will T 1 f 4 an 1 ' xr f

DoNNiss Sci-IUMANN Transferred Spencer High, Spencer, Iowa, Contest Player Award, GAA l, 2, 3, Two Pins and Letter, Y-Teens 1, 2, Drama 35 FHA 4, Class President, Basketball Manager 4. We may as well admit that even though Donniss came to us from way up in Yankee territory she is plenty smart. She may even make a good Confederate Mother one of these days. LENA ROGERS Clubs: FHA l, 2, 3, 45 Latin 3, Glee l, 2, 37 Commercial 3, Annual Staff 4. Lena's favorite drink should be pepsicola because she really has more bounce to the ounce -a whizz in Latin and a buzz on the dance floor-her ambition still is to be a good housewife. DAVID SHOAF Football 3, 4, FFA 1, 2, 3, A, Commercial Club, Annual Staff 4, C Club 4. Judging from David's FFA record he is well on his way to owning that beef cattle farm which he now dreams about. Anyway, on the football field he got some good practice pushing the beef around. , n RosA Scnoccms Clubs: Beta 3, Ag Library 4, Secretary-Treasurer 4, Latin 27 Commercial 37 Glee l, 2, Purple and Gold 4, Vice President Senior Class. We don't know whether Rosa's habit of talking without thinking will get her into more trouble or more fun. Anyway we have all enjoyed her unpremeditated remarks, and nothing can convince us that there isn't a plenty keen brain behind those straight A report cards. ii PAUL RICKARD Clubs: FFA 1, 2, 3, Commercial 3, DE 4. Paul says his hobby is girls and his ambition is to be in the Navy. Do you think he'll manage to keep a girl in every port?
