av. BERTHA FAUGHT Clubs: Latin 3, Commercial 3, FHA l, 2, Candidate FFA Queen lg Annual Staff 4. When Bertha becomes a school teacher we wonder if she will enjoy classroom conversation as much as her teachers do now. Anyway, her pupils will find her pleasant to look at, easy to get along with, and they might even learn something. JOAN DEVERELL Commercial Club 3, FHA 2, 3. .lo radiates good humor wherever she goes. You'll never find another in many a mile with such mischievous eyes and ready smile. EUGENE ERVIN Clubs: Commercial 35 Beta 37 FFA I, 2, 3, 4. lt is easy to picture Eugene as a 5 star general lhis ambitionl. ,I FRANCES BLANK Clubs: Latin 25 Glee l, 2, 3, 4, FHA l, 2, 3, 4, District Historian 2, Songleader 4, Teen Timers l, 2, 37 Freshman Reporter. Although small in size Frances' personality bursts forth in large proportions-in friendliness, in flirtations, in beauty, and especially in singing, one is amazed that so much volume can come from so small a throat. 75 - H5 FRIEDA EASLEY FHA 3, Teen Tmers, Glee Club l, 2, 3, Commercial Club 3. We just can't wait to get sick so we can call on Frieda to come nurse us. Even if she gives the wrong pills we believe her dry wit and folly personality will put us right with the world. Louie DAVIS Clubs: FFA l, 2, 3, 4: Commercial 3, C Club 4, Football 2, 3, 4. Don't let Louie's shy exterior fool you. Back of it you'll find a regular fellow with one of the best-balanced person- vim alities in West Tennessee, ANN DAVlS FHA I, 25 Commercial Club. Lucky is the boss who gets Pee-Wee for a stenographer for truly she is proof of the old saying that valuable things come in small packages. FRANKLIN DUNN FFA l, 2, 3, 4, Secretary of FFA 4. D. l.'s ambition is to take Harry Carey's place as sports announcer for the Cardinals-worthy ambition of a worthier brain, but nobody knows where he got that name.

T-s-K WAYNE GASSON FFA 1, 2, 3, 4, Commercial Club 3, Football 4, Teen Timers 4. Little Tombstone is as quiet as a tomb but that isn't why they call him that. Behind his quiet exterior is a stubborn- ness and determination that may carry him up to the rank of general, which is his ambition. 'Q BISHOP GLASS FFA l, 2, 3, 45 Commercial 3. If there is a Tavern in the Town you'll probably find that the owner is Jack. if he carries on with his present class- room habits he will probably be asleep too. MARTHA GEORGE Clubs: Commercial 3, Glee 2, Basketball l, 2, 3, 4, Homecom- ing Queen 4. This petite blonde is synonymous with vivaciousness and charm. Add to these a lovely voice and the name of Martha George may be seen in lights some day. HELEN GILBREATH Clubs: FHA 1, 2, 3, 4, Commercial 3, Glee 1, 2, Basketball 1. There never was a Gilbreath that wasn't bubbling over with fun and laughter and Helen is no exception. Of course, she has her serious moments-Dan Hadley, for instance. EDWIN GOOKIN Clubs: Commercial 35 FFA I, 2, 3, Glee l, 2, Teen Timers i, 27 Football 1. Although usually scraping gum, being late to class, or just plain getting into mischief Gook still has time to hold down the title of the Rudolph Valentino of Byars-Hall. And this ladies man is lust as popular with the boys.
