Under the baton of Wilbur Sims, they have entertained the student body and many fraternal organizations throughout the city since their organization. Their musical endeavors were aided by the junior class, who purchased the sheet music and donated the music stands, which were made in the woodworking department. In their appearances, individuals have had solo billing. These include Wil- bur Sims, trumpetist in Coquette , Al Chabai, clarinetist in Night and Day , Art Pascoe, trumpetist in Night and Day , Bill Kolman, saxophonist in A Pretty Girl , Charles Hewitt, pianist in Bumble-Boogie. Trumpet- ist, Art Pascoe also arranged several of the band numbers, notably Camp- town Races. These l3 boys were always eager to help in any project and their smooth style won the admiration of all listeners. After their initial appearance in the junior class assembly, they played for several school functions and for the Masonic Lodges at their Washington Day Program. Although five are members of the class of I947, the remaining eight plan to add more members and build the band up to its peak again.
