A PROPHECY - -i 72,4 p h 5' --as A sf In wrestling at the Butler Round Garden, Art Coon and Glenn Pore had defeated Renald Heftlefinger and Steve Creath in a tag team match by hitting them over the head with a ring of frozen sausage. In the Woman's Interplanetary Golf Match, Judy Barr and Pat Atherton had tied for the championship with a tie score of 235 strokes for 9 holes. In the seventh game of the World Series, Ernie Cochrane had pitched a no hit, no run game winning his third World Series Game and the Series for the Boston Red Sox by defeat- ing the Pittsburgh Pirates I-O. In the court news Pat Craner, the nations leading woman lawyer, had just successfully defended Gwyenna Ogier, who was being charged with eating turnip greens out of season and creating a shortage. The thing that I saved till last to read was the cartoon, Mr. and Mrs. Ghung Ho, written by the wor1d's two foremost cartoonists, Miriam Forbes and Bonnie Hildenbrand. just then the door bell ran and I got up to pay the paper boy, Dave Hathaway, who has been delivering my paper for the last I5 years. This prophetical document has been prepared and written by the owner of the crystal ball which resides on East Bulldog Avenue, Madam Sing Te Yung, who hears all, sees all, knows all and tells all. xx I ,', if ,' SENIOR CLASS 4. ,, PROPHE Y 'U ' ' W XY As I sat down on a balmy afternoon in May of 1976 to read the daily newspaper, the familiar names of my old classmates appeared. The editor of the paper was Goldie Gregory with Dorothy Atherton as her star reporter Headlines screamed that President John Fout had just fired cabinet member, Don Bratschie, for not drinking a quart of milk a day to help the dairy farmer. Farther down in the column was an article about Helen Mclfadon and Sandra Smith had just taken a trip around the world and completed their collection of foreign road maps. I moved from the front page to the Society page where there was a picture of Phyllis Baker who had just married her 7th husband with the Reverend Perry Wharton officiating. Over two columns was a notice that songstress Shirley Wolfgang and her publicity agent, Grace Zimmerman, were preparing a new T,V. show to be produced by Lowell Algire and sponsored by George Dunn and Sidney Hall, the manufacturers of the new ,OOOI caliber hunting rifle. Linda Bookman and Sandra Hollar had held a charity ball the evening before for the benefit of old worn out street cleaners. The next page featured a large advertisement by Chuck Leedy and Marion Oyster the co-owners of the largest Oldsmobile dealership in Northern Worthington Township. ln the school news I saw where many of the class of 56 had returned to dear old B. H.S. to work. Dick Kuhn and Tom Gatton had taken over the janitorial duties, Cheryl Workman was teaching 2nd grade, La Donna Wolf, commercial teacher, and Charles Lifer was the new Executive Head, Down on the sports page was an interview by Tom Llewellyn with John Shaffer, the head football coach at Ohio State University, replacing Woody Hayes. Coach Shaffer said that his team would feature a strong running attack exploiting the fullback, Bruce Larcomb, a hard running sophomore who had just graduated from old B. H. S. two years ago. Bruce was being helped through college by his wife, the former Janice Freeman who was working in the University Hospital.
