7ol'lze0laMof54 You of the Class ot 54 have been prrvrledged to see durrng your four years of htgh school several remarkable changes here at Butler H1gh Wlth the a1d of over srx thousand dollars secured from the State Depart ment of Educat1on s rehabrhtatron fund both the Elementary and H1gh School bu1ld1ngs were completely redecorated Addltronal rooms were added to both burldmgs g1v1ng us a new class room shop and so1l and mrlk testrng laboratory for Vocatronal Agnculture and three addrtronal class rooms a frrst a1d room and two more rest rooms for the Elementary Grades These bulldmg addrtrons empt1ed the old gyrnnasrum whrch the State Department ot Educa tron would not permrt us to use for class rooms and 1t has been cleared and retrmshed so that Butler now has an Elementary School Gymnasrum for the use of the Elementary ch1ldren Even that rntangrble yet very rmportant thmg Communrty sprnt has been demonstrated by the strong publrc support gxven our school levres and the bond lssue for our bu1ld1ng addrtlons Dur1ng th1s t1me whtle the above changes were berng made our total school enrollment for the year has steadrly grown from slrghtly more than four hundred to approxlmately hve hundred and htty puplls Changes of some sort are always takmg place around us Thrngs Just dont stand st1l1 at least not for very long at a t1me Erther we make progress and xmprove or we tend to sl1p backward and degenerate Our graduates who are now 1n college at Ashland Bowlmg Green Oh1o Wesleyan Otterbem and Ohro State are all dorng Well and makmg good grades l know you are proud to have been assocrated wtth and a part of thts perrod durlng whrch defxmte forward progress has been made at Butler H1gh Longfellow sard L1ves ot great men all remtnd us We can make our hves subhme And depar't1ng leave behmd us Footprmts on the sands of t1me tootprmts we hope of servrce rendered to mankmd A H HPTHAWAY 1 .. . 1 1 , .
