N., D Xt' Coach Lowks We wish to thank and commend Mr Pollock and Mr Spicer for the ttne Job of coachmq they did wtth the 1953 54 Football team dunnq the illness of Head Coach Marion Q Lowks who was seriously 111 for a six week period Despite Mr Lowks absence from the coaching staff after the Highland qarne the team went on to a 44 season under the directton of Mr Sprcer and Mr Pollock Qn November 29 the team was proud to crown Miss Marlone Lifer as Football Queen for the 53 54 season The queen and her court were escorted across the held each by two players down an isle formed on one side by the remainder of the Butler team and the other by the Norwalk St Paul team Upon reaching the other side the Queen was crowned by Captain lim Stone and in return the Queen pre ented htm with a football and soon the game was underway with Mtss Marlone Liter retqninq as Queen Heading the sconnq column with 59 points was Iohn Pore while Art Coon holds the title for the longest run 90 yards wh1ch was against Plymouth DEDICATED TO FOOTBALL He made a run around the end, Was tackled from the rear, The right quard sat upon his neck, The fullback on his ear The center sat upon his back, Two ends upon his chest, The quarter and the halfbacks then Sat down on him to rest, The left guard set upon his head, Two tackles on his face.
