The Gym Club, under the direction of Mr. Wolfgang, makes it possible for a large number of boys to take part in athletics. The boys learn the rules of fair play and good sportsmanship in all their undertakings. They are constantly on the alert to learn new games, practice new drills, and other body-building exercises. Since the member- ship in this club is open to boys from sev- enth to twelfth grade, each year Mr. Wolf- gang has an overflow of eager and enthus- iastic aspirants. Gym work, such as calisthenics, tumbling, acrobactic maneuvers, boxing, and group games are popular and healthful activities of this organization. In the winter season, the boys are divided into groups which form an intramural basketball league. These teams and games provide a perfect outlet for the boys who have not the capabilities and experience to participate on the varsity in- terscholastic teams. Often times the boys are called upon to display their gymnastic abilities. This usually occurs when the pub-- lic is invited to Demonstration Night, when each department of the high school performs in conjunction with its particular subject.
