The work of the Printing Vlub is ot' great importance to our school. The efforts and efficiency of these boys can not be underrated. Under the excellent, supervision of Mr. Kimmel, the members of the club learn the fundamentals ot' printing, such aszthe man- ner in which the type is ar-- ranged in the drawers: set-1 ting up ot' the type for print- ing, the proper method of printing the numerous arti- cles, and other skills which will be an asset to them if they continue this type of work, The club consists of stud- ents from various grades so that each year there are a few who have had experience and can help the new members. Some ot' the many products turned out are: the printing of basketball, baseball and dance ticketsg basketball and baseball schedules, invitations and programs for other numerous school and public functions. Without the services of this club the school would be at a loss, so we wish to extend our many thanks to this organiza- tion to let them know their efforts are appreciated very much by everyone. HT Y Av 17 XX. XX The Sub-Deb Club ot' Butler Township High School is an ac- credited member ot' the National Sub-Deb Club, sponsored by the liadies llome Journal. This club of eighth and ninth grade girls devotes meetings to mersonalitv develo iment, how to wear their hair and clothes, l . behave on dates, and get along with families and friends. A club out for fun, and fun only, is hardly one to be proud ot' in these days when I there's so much work to be done. Realizing this, the Sub- llebs each year participate in some worthy community project. Township opics EDITORS EDITORIAL STAFF Five times yearly, editors and report- ers of the Township Topics rack their brains for clever articles to please its many student subscribers. Inspirations are carefully jotted down on starched cuffs, candy wrappers, or anything handy. Just as in a bona fide newspaper of- fice, there are deadlines to be met, news happenings to be investigated, a n cl much confusion before each issue is lin- ally sent to the press. Prock, CERAMICS CLUB Under the supervision of Mrs. Kehlcr, the Ceramics Club students pursue the following process to produce their beau- tiful wares: The clay is softened and placed in a mold. After being hardened and smooth- ed, the object is painted with engobes or glazes. Next, the raw piece is placed in an electric oven until the tempera- ture reaches 1800 degrees. The oven is cooled for eight hours. Then the fin- ished Work of art is ready for display. SERVICE CLUB Under the supervision of Mr. O'Don- nell, the Service Club assists in supply- ing entertainment for the students. Their most important duty is running the movie projector. Feature movies are shown to the students about once every month. Another dependable task is showing movies at free period. These films are supplied by such companies as Westinghouse and General Electric. This club also takes charge of ar- ranging the stage for speakers and An- trim Bureau performers.
