CLASS ACTIVITIES One of the many record hops of the year. Judy Washier, Jack Hoffer, and Carolyn Moughler were top- notch magazine salesmen. The Junior concession stand did very well this 5 year- Each high school class is given the opportunity to raise money. The Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes use the money for the trip they are entitled to when they become Seniors. As a large amount is needed, each member of the individual classes are required to work out their share for the trip. Record hops, and the coat check were a part of the sophomore schedule. The juniors were kept busy with their magazine sales and concessions. The seniors were constantly attempting to raise enough money for their trip. A few of their projects were chili sup- pers, bake sales, and paper drives. The Sophomore coat-check gave courteous service to everyone. Cold weather didn't stop those Senior paper drives.

FADS FASHIONS FOR 61-’62 Girls' Hairdos Fashions change from year to year, and Butler was caught in the fashion - fad whirlwind this year. Canvas shoes were the rage when school first be- gan in September. Leo- tards made the scene fol- lowing the Senior play. As the weather became colder, shoe boots became popular among the girl s. This was coiffure - changing season. The boys displayed flattops and ducks while the girls were busy modeling their Jackies, the Bubble, pageboys, and ponytails. Boys' Haircuts Sweaters were the big thing in everyone's ward- robe, both boys and girls. Bulky-knits were perfect for those cold winter days, and cardigans came in handy for those chilly fall mornings. Purses ranged from large and bulky to small and unique. There were clutches,” pouches, tote-bags, suitcases, and many others. As we look around But- ler High, we can see that the students, both boys and girls, keep right in step with most of the fashions and fads of the day. Shoes Boys' Sweaters Girls' Sweaters 4

CONVOCATIONS Mr. Lowe makes special announcements before the en- tire student body. One of our many exciting convos. In our school, the familiar sound of three bells summons each student to the gymnasium. Convocations play an im- portant part in our school lives. At our convos we are given instructions and pep talks by Mr. Lowe to better improve our school life and ourselves. Convos provide entertainment and di- version from the daily routine for all students. The Student Council sponsors three special convos each year for the students' and teachers' enjoyment. Several ministers came to give us messages of the spiri- tual nature.
