HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL Nancy Casebere manages the Sophomore dart toss. All the youngsters dress for the big masquerade. The cake walk is the Freshman contribution to Halloween fun. The highlight of Halloween for the stu- dents of Butler High is the Halloween Car- nival . This school activity helps to keep the students out of trouble and aids the older students in raising money for their class. Booths are erected in the gymnasium. Here the students and citizens of Butler can enjoy themselves in a lively and friendly atmosphere. The cake walk, dart toss, pie throw, and basketball toss are just a small part of the entertainment pro- vided . There is always plenty of food availabe in the cafeteria and food stands. The evening is climaxed at 10:00 when Prince Charming and Cinderella are crowned. 8 Georgianna Reed gets spilled at the Junior baseball toss.

NOON HOUR Waiting in line is sometimes tiring . . . But the lucious meals are worth it. Our new cafetorium provides a pleasant and wholesome atmosphere for eating the noon meals. The good food prepared by our cooks win many students' favor. We, at Butler High are very lucky to have such a modern and efficient system for lunches. After eating an enjoyable meal, the students come back to school to enjoy the noon league activities. The noon league games are made up of boys in physical education classes desiring to play basketball. Different classes compete with a spirit of winning. This spirit is carried throughout the different classes and helps to promote interest and provide entertainment for the students at the noon hour. Noon hours are made more enjoyable by Noon League activities.

Prince Charming Cinderella for 1962: Nathan Houser and Marlene Sholl. Two distinguished titles that two girls of Butler High can hold during the school year are Cinderella and Homecoming Queen. Cinderella is chosen at the Halloween Carnival. Votes are bought at a penny a vote. The proceeds go to the class from which the winning candidates are chosen. Marlene Sholl became Cinderella of our Halloween Carnival last October. Prince Charming, Nathan Houser, was Cinder- ella’s escort. The Homecoming Game always arouses plenty of excitement. At our first home game, our Homecoming Queen is crowned. All clubs and organizations nominate the girl of their choice. This year there were eleven candidates for Queen.
