TIGER 1973 Published by the 1973 Tiger Staff Butler High School Hartsville, South Carolina Volume XXI 2 4 5 ORGANIZATIONS Organizations demonstrate our dreams to belong. Working together makes the individual strong. Editor — Linda Giiliard Friends, Everyone dreams of what he or she wants to be when they become adults; from the time they start realizing what is happening around them, until the time they become what they’re going to be for life. Butler has helped us in a large way in fulfilling these dreams. WE have seen samples of what our life’s purpose is going to be like. We’ve glimpsed our future with actual situations in the present. Following through with our plans is now up to one person; you. I’m hoping we will take our best talent and use it to construct, not destroy our world into a better one. A ceasefire in Vietnam hasn’t really worked yet and the tension in the Mideast is still strong which could Hare up into a full-scale war. As tomorrow’s leaders, we must become aware of the mount- ing world problems that lead to strife among mankind and seek that understanding that will bring about lasting peace and love, and man to man the world over shall brothers be. This is one dream everyone wants to see become a reality. Good luck fellow seniors and keep your aim for success on the highest attainable goal. Your dream is now within your grasp, so don’t let it slip, away at this late date. Peace and Love. Dennis Wilson, Business Manager Fellow Schoolmates, A dream is a visionary idea of one’s creation of the imagina- tion; it is something felt or something seen; it is a hope stemming from strong desires and curiosities. Here at Butler we have had many dreams and have seen some of them fulfilled which brought great pleasure. We shall continue to dream for they are the spur that keeps us aspiring for higher goals. There is no end to dreams — one dream follows another. Our dreams include untold stories of success, happiness, peace and understanding. It is our hope to build a statue along the road of success that will be worthy of our dreams and of valuable service to humanity. As you take time out to glimpse through these pages we would like for you to make our dreams your dream. To be truly happy is a question of how we begin and not how we end; of what we want and not what we have, so get off to a good start and climb the highest mountain. We live in an ascending scale when we live happily - one thing leading to another in an endless series. For the onward-looking person there is always a new hori- zon. With this in mind, let us keep our eyes, on the spire as we travel hopefully up life’s highway. Let us not be just dreamers, put strive with dauntless courage to make our dreams meaning- ful realities. There may be dark clouds and deep fog at times, but keep onward, the reward will be well worth the effort. Best wishes to all, Linda S.
