As we were . . . Looking bock, we wonder how we could hove lived through our freshmon yeor. Our first view of B.H.S. come neor the end of the summer of 1962. At orientation, we gozed or the large buildings ond wondered how we could possibly find our woy around. Then, on the first doy, clutching brand new schedules ond old notions, passed on by older brothers ond sisters, we tried to understand how the main building could be the old building . . . when the annex wos obviously older, ond how the new building could be new. when it wos built before we were born. And why is 334 nowhere neor 314, ond if 103 is next to 100, wherever did they hide 102? Freshmon yeor is o mixed set of memories, including envy of the various senior privileges, our championship seasons in football, bowl- ing, ond frock, ond o first-ever F in Mr. Hoeflinger's social studies class. Shoring these activities, we soon began to break down the barriers that separated the Butler ond Bloomingdole students, ond starred to develop the friendships that will lost the rest of our lives. — Luonne Osrerhoudr 1 Alice Bleignier. 2.
