DEDICAT From our well-loved Jersey hills came these boys who will not return. From other hills, from lakes and prairies, from factories and farms all over America, came others for whom there will be no return, although the guns are silent now. In their name and in the name of all boys who fought everywhere, we must reconstruct a new world wiser and safer than the old one which called them to war. Rather than cold marble or bronze, let our monument to them be a living thing — a new world pulsing and strong. Young America dedicates itself to this promise.
