So we reminisce whenever we get together. Realizing that the graduating class of June 1951 will soon be away from active school life, the staff of the yearbook has attempted to present in the pages of the 1951 Magnet scenes, people, and events that have made school days memorable. May the following pages serve as an index to the big and little moments of your High School career . . . big moments when the Golden Tornado rolled to an undefeated season and the championship, little moments when you forgot your homework. Days when you walked on air perhaps because you were elected sec- retary of homeroom, accepted for a part in the play, won the intra- mural game, or maybe just had all your work done and knew the answers. Whatever they brought, they were golden days to be remem- bered with pleasure. As you look through these pages at the picture of a friend, the rival you tormented in English, or the teacher on whose seat you placed a tack, may your memories bring you only smiles.

Dear Dr. Anderson, In the years to come, there will be much of our school life which we will forget, but as long as we live, there will be one person whom we shall never forget, our Superintendent of Schools. Ever since the first day we entered these doors as bewildered sophomores, you have always been ready with a helping hand. In many high schools the student body looks upon the chief administrator as some sort of dictator. This is certainly not true here in Butler high. You have long been regarded as an understanding friend as well as a competent administrative officer. No matter What our PrOlDlelTlS, Whether large or Srflall, as a class or EIS lI1dlVid.llalS, YOU were I1eVer COO bL1Sy to hear LIS and offer a word of advice. YOl1r quiet, humble, gentlerflarlly rnanller l'laS served as an eXCelleI'lt example for all of US to follow. Therefore, it is with a great deal of pride that we dedicate this our 1951 Nlagnet to you, Dr. Anderson. Sincerely, The Senior Class Dr. Anderson prepares to start his day's work. 4
