IOHN T. HOGG Assistant Principal of Senior High School Iohn T. Hogg, assistant principal, is well known by every student. He Works with the attendance office staff, Mrs. Ada Wick and Mrs. Mildred Gates, in carrying out the Work of this office. Mr. Hogg's Work is With Mrs. Wick in checking on those who arrive tardy, and he also takes care of truant pupils. He is in charge of all the student activities that are held in the school building during and after school hours. The most important of Mr. Hogg's duties, and least appreciated by the student body, is discipline. Before becoming assistant principal, Mr. Hogg taught, among other things, Latin. . Guy N. Harriger, director of Curriculum and Super- vision, is the most recent addition to the high school administrative staff. This is his first year in Butler Senior High. He is already a very busy person, Working With teachers' committees making a study and revision of the Senior High School curriculum. Dr. Harriger has the responsibility of supervising the adult education classes which meet Monday and Thursday evenings. He Will also have charge of summer school. In addition to these duties, Dr. Harriger assists with supervision of textbooks, assem- bly programs, and the education guidance program. William T. Bean, principal of Butler Senior High School, is a busy man. He plans the master sched- ule and supervises the Work of approximately eighteen hundred pupils and sixty teachers. All building improvements must be passed by his office. Heauisitions for all purchases, from sheet music to Warm-up coats, must meet his approval. Even the Magnets budget must be endorsed by him. Dr. Bean serves as chief public relations official for the high school, he notifies the public of changes and improvements and approves plans for the var- ious drives, such as the March of Dimes, carried on in the school. ln addition to his other duties, he often serves as confident and adviser to troubled students. Rhoda Freehling, clerk in principal's office, spends much of her day in typing. She uses only one typewriter, however, others are used by Miss Marion McElroy, steno- grapher to the principal, and by student typists. That big odd looking thing is not a television set but a micro-film machire where filmed records are shown. All per- manent record cards tl9l5-l94Ol have been filmed to conserve storage space. WlLL.lAM T. BEAN Principal of Senior High School Mrs. Kummer serves as receptionist as well as clerk and gives general information to everyone who asks for it. Here she does it in typewritten form. Commercial students serve as aides each period in the day. 1
