Pep Club The B.H. S. Pep Club, under its new point point system, was Very active this year. The entire club assisted the coaches by keeping the football and basketball players full of cookies and pop. The halls were filled with locker tags and spirit signs which boosted the spirit of the entire school. They showed great enthusiasm during the pep assemblies and at the games. Bear Club The 1971-72 Bear Club spent most of its time working in the concession stand. Their major money-making project was selling wastebaskets. The money was intended to be for a float trip in the Ozarks, but it was impossible to go because of a busy schedule at the last of school. An athletic banquet was held for all the athletes and their parents on Friday, May 5, in the multi-purpose room. The guest speaker was Gunther Cunningham, defensive coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks. An interesting film was shown review- ing the Razorbacks' previous season. After the film awards were given. The Bear Club officers were Mark Repp, Presidentg Brad Wayland, Vice-presidentg Randy Pike, Secretaryg Steve Niemcryk, Treasurerg and Bear Club Officers Wilbur Herman, Sergeant-at-Arms. .ar .. - W nr Coach Jerrel Allen--Sponsor asf? i r 1 i i Bobi Rush, Carol Grizzell, Marilyn Nissen, Jan Smith, Carol Smith, and Mary Laughlin Bake sales sent the girls to camp. Varsity Squad The Varsity Cheer- leaders for 1971 -1972 were all seniors. They were chosen at spring tryouts and attended the National Cheerleading Association's summer camp in Marshall, Mis- souri. The six girls re- turned home to proudly display their five blue ribbons and the coveted Spirit Stick. They were busy throughout the year helping the boys and boosting the school spirit. Some of their activities in- cluded making locker tags, hall signs, and baking cookies. They also prepared a brunch for the basketball boys on Courtwarming morning. - Brad Wayland is one of the many boys that helped at assemblies.
