Bobi Rush 1972 Courtwarming ueen After much anticipation and preparation, Bobi Rush, senior candidate, was crowned as the 1972 Courtwarming Queen by Randy Mills. Kathi Alkire, last year's Courtwarm- ing Queen, helped in the ceremonies. Bobi was escorted by Brad Wayland. Other candidates included Julie Davidson junior, and Joan Williams, sophomore. Julie was escorted by Doug Diehl, and Joan was escorted by Rick Brumback. The candidates were chosen by the basket- ball boys, and the queen was determined by a vote of the student body. Bobi was presented a necklace, charm, basketball, and a bouquet of roses. Then she was escorted to her throne which was located in the upper deck of the bleachers. She reigned over the Varsity basketball game and during the dance that followed. After much hard work in the Courtwarm- ing game, the Butler Bears were defeated by the Miami Eagles by the score of 34-29. Wrestling The Butler Bear Wrestling squad completed an eventful second year. Mr. Carl Worden, the wrestling coach, led the boys through a 5-6 dual meet record. The squad took second place at the Pleasant Hill Tournament and fourth place at the conference tournament. Also, the team took eighth at Higginsville and fifth at Harrisonville. lt was a very fine record for a team in only its second year of existence. Many wrestlers return for next season promising good results. Coach Carl Worden Gerald Griffin takes down opponent. ff Wilbur Herman in a familiar position.
