Evonne Pike Homecoming Queen Homecoming 1971-'72 contained the excitement and flair everyone had expec- ted. lt began with the Student Council making various plans as to the traditional mums, parade entries, half time cere- monies, and the dance. The speculation as to who would win the game and who would win the crown was high, but every- one had their own ideas. During half time ceremonies, all eyes were upon Randy Brittingham when he crowned Evonne Pike, sophomore, as the queen. Wilbur Herman distributed the roses. Evonne was escorted by Tim Nuch- ols. She reigned over the remainder of the game and the dance that followed. The other candidates were Marilyn Nissen, senior, and Lee Ann Lewis, ju- nior. Marilyn was escorted by Rusty Logan and Lee Ann was escorted by Mark Repp. These candidates were nominated by their respective classes and voted on by the entire student body. The football boys made the final decision as to who would be selected as their queen. The Bears were defeated by a score of 30-28 from the much favored Warrensburg Tigers, but not all was lost as everyone enjoyed the dance that followed featuring The Revolver. i -I Queen Evonne at practice. Candidates await the parade's beginning. Music provided by the Revolver Art Club displays talent with a Homecoming float,
