Wishbone Proves Effective The Bears enjoyed a fairly successful and eventful year. Several key would-be vic- tories were thwarted by the opponents' last second heroics. ln two games, Pleasant W, Hill and Eldorado Springs, Butler lost by M field goals which are rare occurances in a high school game. ' J ,W V A As a result, the backfield rushed for an ,,ZV,,,,,, .,.., A .sr f 'Q average of 300 yards every Friday. This is a fine compliment not only to the excellent backfield but also to the steady, hard-hitting line. The Bears were in the game every ' week, indicated by the fact that four con- ference games were lost by a total of eight points. The highlight of the season was a 68-6 thrashing of our arch-rival, Adrian. The Big Four Touchdown! Bears lead Thornton for a gain. 4 .QBQUB l Varsity football squad
