s 2 Mathematics and Ei 1 Science The Mathematics and Science Departments of Butler Junior -Senior High School consist of the following classes: Mr. Duzan illustrating a solution set seventh and eighth grade Mathematics, taught by Mrs, Harrisg eighth grade Mathematics, Basic Mathematics I, Algebra I, and Advanced Mathematics, taught by Mr. Alleng seventh and eighth grade Science, taught by Mr. Gleasong seventh grade Science and Biology, taught by Mr. Millerg and eighth grade Science, Physical Science, Chemistry, and Physics, taught by Mr. Fisher. The highlight of the Mathematics Department is the Pittsburg Mathematics Relays at Kansas State College, Pittsburg, Kansas. This relay is held in the spring of each year. Fine Arts The Fine Arts Department of Butler Junior - Senior High School consists of the following classes: seventh and eighth grade Art, Art 1, Art ll, and Advanced Art, taught by Mr. Christieg seventh and eighth Chorus, and high school Chorus, taught by Mrs. Gunnelsg junior high Band and high school Band, taught by Mr. Ghysg and Dramatics, taught by Mr. Moore. The Art classes have been working on various projects, as can be seen by looking in the display window. The Chorus and Band classes were striving for perfection as they have received I ratings the preceding years at Contest. Vocational Training Industrial Arts, a section of the Vocational Training Department, is made up of the following classes: Junior High Shop, General Shop, Woodworking Electricity, and Drafting taught by Mr. A dkinsg and Animal Science, Plant Science, Agricultural Con- struction, Vocational Agriculture l, II, and Advanced Agriculture taught by Mr. Hilgedick.
