Language Arts The Language Arts Department of Butler Junior -Senior High School consists of the following classes: Seventh grade Language Arts, taught by Mrs. Ienkinsg eighth grade Language Arts, taught by Miss Selvey, Language Arts I, taught by Mrs. Hillq Language Arts II and Publications, taught by Mrs. Fisher, Language Arts III, taught by Mr. Spears, Mrs. Hill, and Miss Selveyg Language IV andAppreciation of Literature, taught by Mr. Spearsg French I and French II, taught by Mrs. Robinson, and Spanish I and II, taught by Mrs. Sutherland, The Language Arts classes consist of a mixture of literature and grammar with emphasis on composition, vocabulary, and language. E. , Health, and Drivers Education. He attended the University of Arkansas and received his Bachelor of Science in Education at Southwest Missouri State College and his Master of Science in Education at Central Missouri State College. Before he came here he taught in Marshville, Montrose, and Rich Hill, Missouri.

31 Mr. Worden shows skill at running a maze. Mr. Simmons does his own thing! Social tudies Mr. Carl Worden, Mr. Giffon Sim- mons, Mrs. Francis Albin, and Mrs. Earleen Christie were the instructors of the social studies this year. Mr. Worden taught Psychology, Sociology, Anthro- pology, and American History. Mr. Simmons instructed Economics, American History, Family Relations, and Personal Finance. Mrs. Christie taught World History and Geography, while Mrs. Albin had junior high Social Studies. Mrs. Christie lectures . Mrs. Albin and her junior high class.
