Butlerite ueen Cheryl York The well-kept secret was released when the annual staff announced Cheryl York, senior, and John Golladay, sophomore, as the 1972 Butlerite Royalty at the annual honors program. The other candidates included Doug Diehl, seniorg Patricia Wilson and Larry Scott, juniorsg and Joan Williams, sopho- more. These candidates were nominated by their classes and voted on by the student body. According to tradition, these candi- dates had their pictures taken at a studio and then these pictures were sent to a celebrity to be judged on personal appear- ance. This year the annual staff was fortunate to have Mr. and Mrs. Alan Fitzmorris judge the pictures. Mr. Fitzmorris is a pitcher for the Kansas City Royals and Mrs. Fitzmorris is a former model and runner-up in the Miss Kansas competition. Butlerite King and Queen Patricia Wilson J oan Williams

Prom and Banquet The Junior Class presented to the Se- nior Class of 1972 the festive Prom and Banquet entitled 'tFirst Lovef' The Banquet was held on May 19, 1972 in the Methodist Church basement with the Methodist Church women pre- paring the menu. Mr. Charles Key, former high school principal at Butler, was the guest speaker. The Prom was held on May 20, 1972 in the grade school gym- nasium. The decora- tions carried out the theme. Music was pro- vided by Totapoke, a band from Columbia, Missouri. Senior couple enjoying the Prom.
