Junior High Honor Assembly On May 16, 1972 thejunior high teachers held an assembly where they presented the top seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students with various types of recognition. A wide variety of class awards were given. Some included Math, English, History, Science, and Shop. Other awards were presented also. Some of these were band certificates, perfect attendance awards, and sports letters. Mrs. Albin, History instructor, was presented roses from the students as she will be retiring after the 1972 school year. Maribeth Grechus is presented English award. Saline Roberts, Best Girl Citizen Reid Scifers, Best Boy Citizen Reid and Saline pause for a moment at honor day. Although Butler's school system has many good citizens, only two may be awarded the honor each year. The Best Girl Citizen for 1972 was Saline Roberts and the Best Boy Citizen for 1972 was Reid Scifers. They were both repre- senting the Senior Class. The other candidates were Cindy Davis and Terry Bledsoe, juniorsg and Katie McGuire and Charles Rush, sopho- mores. The citizenship candidates were nom- inated by their respec- tive classes and voted on by the student body. Saline and Reid re- ceived award medals from Randy Mills, Senior Class President, at the honors program, and both gave acceptance speeches.
