Bear Facts The Bear Facts staff concluded the eventful year of 1971-72. This class sometimes re- ceives undue criticism, even though they do the work of publishing the school news. Terri Zerbe did a fine job as editor of the paper first semester, and the editor for second se- mester was Randy Mills, who also took a great deal of responsibility for the running of the paper. Mrs. George Ann Fisher, the paper's sponsor, should also be congratulated on her accomplishments. The student body thanks the Bear Facts staff for all their efforts. ueen Nellie Williams Crowned As First Spike and Cinder Royalty After everyone had predicted rain, the rain finally came after the first Spike and Cinder Queen was announced. Nellie Williams, sophomore, was crowned by Ran- dy Brittingham and Reid Scifers during a fifteen school track meet held at Butler's own track on April 27, 1972. Nellie was es- corted by Mark Varns. The other candidates were Patricia Jackson, senior, and Linda Craig, junior. Patricia was es- corted by Bob Thornton, and Lin- da was escorted by Jim Tiona. The candidates were elected by their respective classes and Queen Nellie was chosen by a vote of the tracksters. She was presented a bouquet of flowers and a crown.
