Our Student Council has performed many services that have helped to make Butler a better school. lt is designed to create a greater sense of responsibility and coopera tion among students, to unity all student organizations under one governing body and to promote a better understanding be tween faculty, administration, and the stu dents. Our Butlernik Satellite has reached the upper atmosphere, and we are peering back into The lives of the class of '58. As we pass across The U. S., a mighty roar is heard from The stands of Yankee Stadium as David Liffick strikes out another batter. Having nothing to do, Keith Powers stands aT second base gazing into The stands where Nancy Buttefbaugh and Carolyn Alspaugh are cheering The Team. Several of our graduates have entered The en- tertainment world. Pat and Steve Van Scoyk have become successful as a dancing team. They are now playing aT The Roxy Theater in New York, which is now owned by Rollie Staley and Ray Campbell. The audience is filled with members of Their class. We see that Esther Erbaugh, Loretta Bowman, Marjorie Bennett, and Ted Schmidt are all enioying The performance. Janet Smith and Kathy Musick are members of The Rockettes, who will naturally be part of The show which is being pro- duced by Jack Campbell. Starring in The dramatic production, I was a Teen-age Vampire, Barbara Morris has Connie Martin as her make-up artist. Passing over Dayton, Ohio, we see standing on The corner of Third and Main, Judy Boedeker, sell- ing The evening edition of The Noisy Blab edited by Gayle Whiteman. Through our X-ray Telescope we see featured on The front page, The case of Dave Sunderland vs. Jack Sandridge lor, The case of The missing hubcapsj. Judge Fred Morton is presiding on The bench. The fashion world's newest models, Janet Ish- mael and Joan Craig, will be modeling creations designed by The noted fashion designer, Merri Huff. The buyer of These fantabulous gowns is Nancy Morton. The society section carries The story of The tea given by Judy Grimes. Those who attended were Cynthia Sprecher, Rose Marie Francis, Susan Borch- ers, Marifo Korek, Judie Oakes, Mary Jo Evans, and Chris Wilson. In The sports section is The story of Dynamite Denny Detrick's spectacular ninety-yard run, win- ning the game for the Podunk Poodles. Some of his teammates include Pat Suman, Bob Adams, Lee Slorp, and Randy Dirks. Cheerleaders for The game are Kay Harleman, Pat Webb and Jo Wolfe . . . WhaT's this about little Sue Crenshaw winning the world's championship women's wrestling bout? Traveling farther west we see the open plains where Craig Waymire, John Waymire, J. D. Beeson, and Phil Hertlein have settled on farms. Having passed over a number of school houses, we see that many grads have become teachers. These include Penny Cron, Phil Hutchins, Pat May, and Tim Garwood, who is teaching physical educa- tion. Cruising over Hollywood, we see that John Jenkins has opened another Dodge showroom. Working as salesmen are Mike Acton, Marshall Jeffers, and Ed Molen. Working as secretaries in the company of Taylor Uiml, Johnson lToml, and Putzan lConradl, who own a thriving singing satellite concern, are Nancy Conover, Dana Askins, Dottie Rumer, ancl Gail Mc- Cabe Collins. Drawing up plans for a bridge to stretch from The U. S., across the Pacific To Hawaii, are Don Wilson, and Jim Brunner. While in Hawaii, whom do we see, but Dave Pleasant, Carolyn Holland, Judy Hanauer, and Lincoln Orange. As we cross The Asian continent, we see that Larry Sherman and Joe Wright have opened up a Japanese lingerie shop. ln ltaly we find that Cheryl West, Judy Gertz, and Mary Lou Barhorst have opened an American Pizza House. Captain Gary Collins and J. R. Montgomery, who are stationed in Arabia with the foreign legion, are being enter- tained by Sandy Clevinger, and Pat Cunningham, who are Arabian dancers. Seated at a candle-lit table in a Paris cafe, are Joyce Gerdes and Leonard Price, who are being serenaded by Von Powell playing his accordion. Still looking for The shoe that he lost on the senior trip is Bob Minniear. In a London beauty shop, we see Barbara Daniels Trying a new hair style on world traveler, Eleanor Morgan. Back in New York again, we see Mary Scott and Stephanie Reicher helping Roberta Wells decorate her new apartment. Having completed our tour of earth, we must remember To check on Larry Swift and Jerry Thomas, who have made the first successful flight to Mars. ' 'i'551:5:,:5:5:1:E: - 0 OLIR JOB IS DONE! Only a year ago the bulldozer started to clear the land on S. Dixie and excavate for the new high school, one month before school started for us. Then in October Mr. Ralph Demmitt broke ground for the Demmitt Elementary School on Old National Road. Construction kept pace all year until both schools were readied for inspection on May 4 at the Sunday afternoon Open House. This was indeed a year for building . . . The seniors built well with blocks of English, Civics, etc., the underclassmen also built step by step fulfilling requirements of English, American his- tory, algebra, etc. Now in May, the buildings are nearly completed, except for interior finishing touches, and will open their doors to Butler Township students next fall. The seniors, having received their diplomas, are ready to accept iobs or to go on to higher educa- tion. WE, of the Airlog staff, too have constructed our book all during the year. Picture by picture, page by page, deadline by deadline, the book took shape until we stamped the last picture and proofread the last page. WE HOPE YOU LIKE IT! The Airlog Staff P.S. Our thanks go to everyone who aided us in preparing this annual. Zfvur Aufagraph, Please - My . 9249, eyxwplpjx WJ, My f ffffc 'QQ ffl fw . I V '5-gif!! O jf!!
