Women Runners Nab Regional The women ' s cross country sea- son proved to be a very productive one. The members of the team were the undefeated Region Six champions. This is the first time a women ' s team has won a regional title in any sport at BCCC. The team placed fourteenth in the national track meet held at Uti- ca, N.Y. Three women made the All Re- gion Six team: Becky Alpers, Terry Hormell, Charlotte Purcell. Since five team members are freshmen, Coach John Francis stat- ed that he is looking forward to an excellent year next year. Other members of the team were Tammy Hodges, Rachel Seager, and Jody Wells. Keesling Makes National Meet With a freshmen oriented team and with numerous injuries, the men ' s cross country team placed fourth in the regional meet. Jim Keesling, sophomore, was the only individual to qualify for the nationals by placing fifteenth at the Region Six meet. Keesling ran in the nationals at Utica, N.Y. and placed 171st. During the season, the Grizzlies won three meets, took second in two meets, and placed third in an- other with fourth place at the re- gional. The 1982 season was the last one for Coach Oliver Isom since he is retiring from coaching. Isom was a top collegiate cross country for many years.
