The Lantern Exposes Everything The Lantern, BCCC ' s weekly student newspaper, was to wind up the year with nearly 30 issues, including a football homecoming edition and an extra heralding the football team ' s rise to national championship. The student-published paper, which has won state and national awards, did not sidestep issues important to students and top news stories that involved investigation by reporters and editors. Included were stories discussing controversy over, yearbook bidding and questions about funding a football fan trip to Colorado, as well as the consumption of alcoholic beverages by outside groups in the Student Union. 1981-82 Lantern staff members included: Tom Harms, editor in chief; Gary Leach, managing editor; Bill Evans, business manager; Deb. O ' Brien and Jim Keesling, news TOM HARMS, editor-in-chief, crashes under his desk the morn- ing after an all night session working to beat the deadline on the newspaper. Larry Erickson, chief photographer, enlarges a photo in the dark room in the new building which journalism moved into for second semester. editors; Jay Baumann, feature editor; Matt Krause, enter 7 tainment editor; Ted Zweifel, sports editor; Dick Oster- buhr, assistant sports editor; Michele Webb, copy editor; Lee White, city area editor. Staff reporters were; Kathy Kuntz, Sam Ruggles, Valer- ie Cornwell, Keith Lindsey, Joyce Dutton, Paul Taylor, Valerie Edwards, Zachary Lamb, Mitch Fabry, Shelley Crawford, Darren White, David Russell, Mark Sudduth, Cindy Stout, Cammy Litchfield and Sondra Huggins. Photo art staff members were: Larry Erickson, chief photographer; Steve Johnson, staff artist; Jeff Regier, Chuck Carson and Brock Faulkner, photographers. Jill Olson and Alisa Sixkiller comprised the production staff. Bill Bidwell was faculty adviser.
