Campus Encompasses 80 Acres The campus of Butler County Community College is located on 80 rolling acres on the southwest edge of El Dorado. Twelve buildings com- prised the physical layout at the be- ginning of the fall term; but at the end of the spring semester, three new buildings were in place. The new buildings included a warehouse and two buildings for dormitory annexes. The annexes house eight students in each build- ing. No additional buildings had been built on the campus from 1966 until this year. No tall trees grow on the campus, even though the campus is 16 years old, for a unique reason. The cam- pus sits on a covered oil slick, and tap roots for large trees simply do not exist in oil slicks. Nevertheless, the campus is well-groomed and at- tractive.
