The activities of the student body of El Dorado Junior College are under the direction of the Student Council. Many activities are sponsored by the Student Council. They include Juco Appreciation Day, Homecoming, the Winter Prom, and Spring Prom. Jacque Wentling, Vice-President of Student Council last year, acted as president until elections were held. One of the most active E.J.C. organizations in several years developed this year under the title, E.J.C. Players, under the direction of Darryl Patten. Upon completing required participation in the theatrical field, the players be- come members of Pi Delta Theta, a local drama fraternity, and all members are free to meet qualifications of Delta Psi Omega, a national fraternity. The Debate Club is open to all who wish to join and receive additional speech credit. The main aim of the class is to give students a chance to develop their speaking ability before a group, both in formal debating and in individual events such as dramatic and poetry reading. The Business Club is an organization primarily for those students who are interested in a business career. It seeks to give the students some idea of what they will encounter in the business field. Mrs. Rowe, Sharron Parry, President, and Ed Evans, Vice-President, attended a meeting for officers and committee chairmen in Topeka in October, and the association was also repre sented at the state convention in Arkansas City in ' April. The Juco Christian Youth Fellowship plans its program for those students who recognize the importance of Christian principles and teachings on the college campus. Regular meetings combining business and programs and a monthly social are provided with emphasis given to the four commissions: Christian Heritage, Personal and Campus Life, Social Responsibility, and World Service. The Thanksgiving and Easter assemblies are open to all who care to attend.
