77,-ifdaqaeaafadan' FFA WAS DESIGNED to prepare many of the boys for successful farming. FFA, or in full, Future Farmers of America, requires all rnem- bers to be active. The members stimulate in- terest in every new freshman by showing off their complete workshop. As a result they have a large membership with many eager underclassmen ready to take responsi- bilities. They must learn the rules of parlia- mentary procedure and practice them in their meetings, assemblies, and contests. FFA also stands for fun, as the boys who went on the trip to Chicago can testify! Other activities this organization took part in include judging livestock, grain, and land: public speaking contest: and their annual pest contest. Work- ing with the FHA organization, they elect the Miss Sweetheart candidates. And this year for the first time, the FFA elected their own sweet- heart at their FFA banquet. lane Pendarvis was elected with Iill Gallehue, Peggy Alls- house, and Anne Evans serving as her court.
