At the Christmas Cantata, KING or KINGS, the boys and girls sang in one big group. The impressive program included solos by Marge Marzahn, Deana Io Hughbanks, Mary Lou Craycraft, Bill Trout, and lim Potter. A mixed ensemble and the mass chorus emphasized the sacredness of Christmas through song. Immediately following Christmas vacation, plans were underway for the second spring show, CURTAINTIME '59. Special groups as well as the boys' and junior-senior girls' choruses began rehearsing. Any Wednesday or Friday during fourth period, the strains of 78 Trombones or The Dogface Soldier could be heard float- ing down the halls of B-PC, as the boys rehearsed their numbers. The junior and senior girls also had two numbers for the spring show. Their Mr. Wonderful and In The Still of the Night, with the syncopated accompaniment of the show band, succeeded in get- ting the audience in a swinging mood. Learning the basic fundament- als of choral music was the task of the freshman and sophomore girls as they prepared for future chorus work. The highlight of the year was the superior rating won by the girls' contest chorus at Hamilton. I PE P BA X D mn mx X1 trx lfrumw-s Frm mm tru mt Sc ru ll Nlill'li'Ill xvklll 1 ll tx lX Vinum-nt. PRACTICE AND CO-OPERATION helped make the B-PC majorettes and Pep Band rank among the best. In the fall, the twirlers are always doing their high' stepping routine, regardless of the tem- perature. Much toil was required as they worked out their steps with lVlr. Garinger. Their sparkling suits and smiles add a touch of friendliness to the half-time performance, as they head the marching band in welcoming opponents and Spartan fans. During the winter months, our Pep Band adds a certain somethingubetweengarnes. Their rhythms and snappy tunes stimulate school spirit and give color to our basketball games. Though small in size, the Pep Band was the best ever. Their interpre- tations of the latest songs, as Well as the familiar Loya1 and True, pro- vided lively fanfare for the Spartans. ll 1 li1111x111 llllt l111clxx1x IJIIXKXII lllcl ID xml SLLQ111: fl1'Ilt' li1llN'l'tN1 Holm l,HlIQl1lNL l'm1'11t'1' Nlilt-sz r1xl lx x s 1 C 111stt Bill C1154-1'.1ft: HI'llL'4' l'.1l1l1 .luck Ki1'l1y1 -Illllll Nlcflrvxxg 111111 1 1111111111 1 x11 lluwg llillll Cf11111l11tc-N, Xl.11'ic111 f,NlJtH'Il. ,li111 B1'ic'lu'1'. l 1 11 x X x 1 x lllllll N llltll X1ll1111 ll llllN loan lt'lINlIlLIl'l'. l41'4111lt llunty, 111115 llc-ml. l.kll'l'Y lit-ll. 111cl l1t1l1 l ill ltr ul I ll 1 x ll 1tt1111 kr IIIIN ll: l1l11.I. l.a1141'5 Cf1'.1111l1l1-t. lfilfll' C1'a11111'1', Put lfltinu. uc 1 ssl N1 1 lllllllxkl Ilulm Xll'flll'l'l'j. 4l1111iu1' B.1r11xt1'41cl.
